Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Every new customer is scheduled to meet with their trainer, boarder, sitter, or walker in advance. This allows the client to get a feel for who they are trusting their pet with and understand how we work as a company and team. Thief we will have a meet and greet with the pet so they aren’t not afraid or shy when it is time to interact with them later on. We strive to make every pet parent and pet feel comfortable with our services.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our owner has been working in pet care for close to a decade. With certifications in pet grooming and pet training he has expanded his knowledge into his small team and is servicing pet parents with experience and passion. Our operations manager works in a fully accredited and phenomenal animal rescue and has animal experience in all settings.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
All of our pricing can be found at our website NYCPawcademy.com under the service you wish to book.
How did you get started in this business?
i have always had a way with animals and always had a hunger to learn more about them. Once I finished high school I went on to do pet care ast a big box store. Being up close to pet parents really helped drive me to go on to become a groomer. While I loved the hands on experience I felt the need to excel in another area, dog training. Once I started I could not stop and have been training ever since.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with clients from all walks of life. I have worked with clients who have cats or dogs, small dogs, big dogs, puppies, seniors, friendly and extreme aggression. We do not discriminate at NYC Pawcademy but instead embrace our differences be it human or pets.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently had a client who adopted a senior from a rescue I work closet with and after an extended board with me (she was doing a movie) she realized this senior needed much more dedication and consistency than she could give. That is when we all went to the rescue and I adopted him!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Do as many consultations as you can and really meet with the person doing your service. It is not enough to browse websites but you really need to meet these people. You will know everything you need to know once you meet them and feel their vibe and hear their philosophy.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What service you need, what kind of device are you looking for, what kind of philosophy are you looking for, and what kind goals do you have for your pet after the training if you pursuing that.
