I grew up around dogs, cats and horses. (somehow they always seem to go together) My family always kept animals and as far back as I can remember I was always passionate (I still am) about learning, understanding and communicating with them better and more effectively. From my late teens right up through my mid-thirties and beyond, I would spend 40 weeks a year traveling on the competitive "A" Horse Show Circuit learning and soaking up as much as I could from some of the best teachers, riders and trainers in the the country. I have ridden and trained both Nationally and Internationally with the likes of Robert Ridland, Rodney Jenkins, Michael Matz, George Morris, Melanie Smith, Bernie Traurig, Kathy Kusner, Alan Pinkston, Michael Ellis, Stu Randall, Bob Gussoni, Dave Kroyer, Harold Dalton, the father of modern "Florida Dressage" Jimmy Kohn, Jay Matter, Terry Rudd and many other top class trainers, educators and researchers all adding to my knowledge base, training philosophy and current training techniques.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically after an Initial Evaluation, we'd begin with a Basic Obedience Program which would normally run 3x a week (Mon. Wed. Fri, for example) at your house for 4 weeks and a total of 12 sessions.
This would encompass the Stage One phase of Basic Obedience and would be the basis and the foundation for Any and All other Training of whatever type that was to follow.
Additional training would primarily depend upon your goals and desires for this dog and be guided by your dog's particular talents and demonstrated abilities.
A Stage One Basic Obedience Course would normally include the On-leash Basic Obedience Commands as follows :
Come - Sit - Down - Stay - Sit/Stay- Down/Stay - Stand/Stay (stand for examination) - Walk at Heel - a Long Recall and an O.K. Release (allowing your dog the freedom to "Just Go be a Dog" for a bit and to go make his own decisions about the world and to learn from those experiences)
This would also come along with Training for both you and your family as to how to operate the dog and How, Where and What to use When.
All Commands would be installed on both Hand Signal and Voice Command as necessary.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine trained Animal Behaviorist and I specialize in K-9, Feline and Equine Behavior, Training, Care and Management.
I was extremely fortunate while at Cornell to have studied under the direct supervision of Dr. Katherine Houpt. Dr. Houpt is widely recognized as one of the foremost K-9 Aggression experts in the world.
She has had a great influence on both me and the evolution of my training philosophies. Exposing me to the work and research of Dr. Ian Dunbar and Dr. Ilana Reisner among others.
Being K-9, Feline and Equine-centric, Dr. Houpt's interests run parallel to my own and thus gave us plenty of common ground on which to build.
I will always be most grateful for my time at Cornell and the wonderful experiences I've had and continue to have there.
I try to get up there just as often as possible (even with my current schedule) as there is ALWAYS Something New and Wonderful going On Up there.
I've always found it to be just the most fabulous place to Learn, to Grow and to Stay Current.
There are always new challenges and new doors being opened there. If you like Horses, Cats and Dogs, it is truly a remarkable place.
To me, now as then, there is absolutely No Other Place on Earth like it !
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Every dog is an individual and every household is truly unique. The rhythms that they run on and the noise levels that they exist in can be extremely variable. But the one constant that we have always offered to ALL of Our Clients is the Strongest Guarantee in the Industry. Bar None and have for more than 30 years now. We wouldn't have it any other way.
Around here "Get Results NOT Promises" isn't just a slogan. Here it's a way of Life !
How did you get started in this business?

What types of customers have you worked with?
It's really been remarkable. Over the course of the past almost four decades now. Our Clients have absolutely and completely run the gamut. We have worked with Everyone & Everything from 1st time Pet Owners with a brand new Rescue Dog (something we absolutely Love to do) to the most serious Dog Sports Competitor in a Multi-Dog Household and just about everything in between. Chambers of Commerce. Divisions of Tourism. Motion Picture Companies. Commercial Clients and just about anything and everything in between. There's always something new and exciting for us to learn . Please have a look through My Profile to see a partial listing of some of our Past & Present Clients.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Working along side HomelessPets.Org, we were recently able to get the very first Certified Service Dog eligible for Full Benefits in the State of New York and that is now being used as a test case in other municipalities and in courts all around the country. Hopefully, and it is our intention, that this will be the start of a pilot program that will benefit Medical Service Dogs and their Handlers throughout the Country.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Look very carefully and examine your needs. Ask lots of questions and expect straight answers. Try to find a Trainer whose philosophies and priorities align with your own. Good Trainers look to build long term relationships not just with their dogs, but with their Clients as well. Additionally I would want the Training Philosophy and Core Training Principals of the person(s) entrusted with the training of your dog(s) to firmly align with that of your family and of your own.
For more than 30 years - Our Training Philosophy here at Interdyne International K-9 has ALWAYS revolved around just 3 very simple things :
"PATIENCE, RESPECT and UNDERSTANDING"
AND
Our CORE TRAINING PRINCIPALS are guided by and can be boiled Down to the following SIX ITEMS : (1) Technique Over Hardware (2) Leadership Over Dominance (3) Management Over Discipline (4) Science Over Tradition (5) Leverage Over Strength (6) Cooperation Over Confrontation
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Do I truly understand and have I really examined just what my needs and that of my Family actually are. Both now and in the future. I've seen it happen so many times. Too much dog, Or a dog of the Wrong Type creates more problems in a household than it ever solves going forward. Regardless of how well it's been trained or by whom.
