About
I am a Certified Canine Behavior Counselor and Dog Trainer. There are many dog trainers out there that focus only on the commands a dog needs to learn so we can communicate with them. My focal point and strength is on canine behavior since it is the behavior issues that "land" these poor dogs into the shelters and foster homes. Territorial, Dominance, Food/Guarding, Interdog Aggression and Separation Anxiety are the most common behavior issues that I deal with. And yes...they are positively correctible!
What I love the most about the work that I do is the surprise in one of my client's face of how easy it is to turn an undesirable behavior into a desirable one! At first they are so distraught, scared and confused and I fully understand that. They are scared they are going to have to give their dog up due to these very serious dog behavior issues. But once I start explaining dog behavior vs. human...they we begin working with their dog...the results are almost instantaneous! I love to see the dog's eyes calm down and the owner's having the leadership position back due to their new understanding. I just LOVE to sit back and watch the beatiful outcome of the human and canine bond and love.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
At first I speak with the client on the phone and allow them to tell me what is going on in the home with their dog. We then set a date/tiime up for me to come into the home to meet the entire family who are "hands on" with the dog and I ask many questions at first. Then I give out my handouts and explain how dogs think and learn and how we as humans perceive what we feel is right to reward in our dogs. We begin to work with the dog. I start at first to get the dog "up and running" and then I watch the family do the same thing one by one until they feel comfortable. It is one session per week and the family is to begin the new regimen at once! Results are inevitable!
