Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We have several different plans for every stage and issue you might be having with your dog, once you contact us we'll help you determine which program is best for you. We also do a thorough pre screening and questionaire prior to our visits so we know what needs to be addressed quickly and uses the time best.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a pro member of the International Association Of Canine Professionals and sit on the Educational Committee, helping other trainers hone their craft. I have a degree in animal behavior sciences and specialize in the use of psychotropic medication therapy for companion animals. And we're ALWAYS attending workshops to stay current with new training methods and education ourselves!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
In home private obedience packages are sold in either three or six sessions, the cost of three sessions is $325.00 and we'll address your most immediate issues (for example: walking well on leash, jumping, stay), or the full six sessions for $625.00, which covers all basic obedience commands plus fixes for typical behavior issues such as begging and stealing from counters. Behavioral consults are charged by the hour, as well as legal cases, please call the office for pricing for those services. We also offer board and train for puppies, please call for pricing.
How did you get started in this business?
My family were active puppy raisers for the local guide dog foundation, from there I was a volunteer in the Philadelphia shelter system during my college years, becoming an apprentice to a master trainer in Bucks County PA for three years before going out on my own to help those who couldn't afford professional training but loved their dogs and wanted to keep them. I did this for years while working a full time job, deciding in 2005 to make the switch and train full time, growing the business to include Susan, my fabulous puppy wrangler and Christine, my terrific dog handler/trainer.
