About this pro

Paws & Rec is #1 at giving your dog the best life within an urban environment
Dogs choose Paws & Rec, and the reason is clear: each outing will ensure he is kept active, makes friends, and comes home satisfied, content and calm!  Here’s how we do it:
  • Our trained professionals combine vigorous walking, pick up 3 to 4 other pack mates, and provides 45-60 mins at a dog-friendly location where your dog is physically and mentally stimulated with lots of playtime, socializing, and off-leash gallivanting.
  • Our Pack Leaders fully engage with your dog ensuring his overall well-being. Aside from interacting during playtime, the Pack Leader also gives frequent water breaks, rest periods, and health reports.
  • Special requests like feedings, drop-offs and picks ups at alternate locations, or any other occasional instructions, can be requested at no extra charge.
  • Overnight pet care can also be provided.
Our family has been caring for dogs for over 20 years, always with basic dog instincts and knowledge in mind.  Our open friendly customer service is just a phone call or email away. We are here to help!

The Paws & Rec employees are responsive and easy to work with, and they're all so sweet to our dog. We run into them sometimes on the street and she gets so excited to see her walkers!

On the professional end - GREAT response times to emails. Always very nice and helpful. Our walker in particular knows one of us is usually at home and will text us everyday when he's close to picking up the pups. And the "loving our dogs" end - INCREDIBLE. Our pups aren't the easiest to handle and our walker handles them with such love and patience. He plays when them way more than we ever do on a walk (and that is a LOT) and the pack walks are great for the length, destinations (so many dog parks!) and because they're constantly socialized with other dogs. I've known a few dog walkers from Paws and Rec before we started having them walk our dogs, and all the walkers are very good at letting the dogs play, even roughly, because they know the distinction between playing and aggressiveness and always stop the dogs from crossing the line. We've not sent our pups on their little daily retreats, but I think it's SO sweet and thoughtful that they come up with that idea. There's none better!

They are so communicative! They always remind you about upcoming holidays, they make it really easy to get in touch if you have a scheduling change, and the walkers are super friendly. Our dog Artie loves his walks with Paws and Rec.

We have had such a great experience with Paws and Rec. They are very reliable, and our dog always seems happy and exhausted when she gets home from her pack walk. We're definitely happier with Paws and Rec compared to your average dog-walking service. We don't feel so guilty leaving our dog home alone now knowing she will get outside and exercise with her friends for a couple hours.

How did you get started in this business?

The Fox family have rescued and cared for dogs all their lives. Jennifer, aka Mama Fox, raised her sons to respect & care for all life: human, dog, or otherwise. Growing up the Fox brothers, Christian, Stephen & Samuel would help the neighborhood by providing dog walking & boarding services. In time, Christian branched out to give the urban dog what they craved most: an active social life outdoors! What started with a few dogs in Brooklyn, quickly grew to what Paws & Rec is today.

What types of customers have you worked with?

We provide fitness and care to all types of dogs, big or small.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Any time one of our dogs is excited and jumping at the door ready to come out & play makes our day bright!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

Your dog is your child. Seek the kind of care & service that your dog craves & needs.
