Friends from the Pen – coordinated a partnership program between local shelters and rescues and AZ State Prison – MTC and CARE-Net; supervised 20 inmates as part of training and behavioral assessment of 10 dogs every eight weeks; supervised maintenance of inmate-kept daily logs and monitor/coordinated health treatment of all dogs.
In 1984 I rescued a dog off the streets near where I lived, cleaned him up, nursed him back to good health and trained him with the help of a book or two. I placed an ad in the paper and found a young couple willing to adopt him. After 4 months I got a letter from that couple telling me how wonderful the dog fit in, and how he has become a part of their family. The enjoyment I got from doing something for that dog and the people became addictive. At that moment I decided I would learn everything I could about behavior and training. I’ve been training dogs since.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I start with an evaluation by phone. After the evaluation, I will give you my suggestion on which program is best suited for you and your dog.
I do individual one-time private sessions. This may work well if you’re just looking to fix a minor problem.
I also have full obedience training programs available; your dog will learn to sit, down, heel and recall on or off leash. Also if your dog has any unwanted behaviors, I can help to eliminate those as well. Also available, Board & Train.
