Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We have an initial meeting remotely or at the location or to be designed and evaluate what will be needed at that time. Generally we obtain a retainer to begin the design process, and complete the space planning and furniture layout on the computer. All of the items needed are selected and a comprehensive list is prepared with the pricing. We spend countless hours researching products and trends to be sure we can offer innovative merchandise and great service to our clients.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
After schooling and interning, I passed the NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualifications) and became a professional member of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers).
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We are happy to discuss our fee structure with our clients...it is extremely competitive. Often we will plan the entire space and then complete each room as the budget allows.
How did you get started in this business?
After many years working for other design firms I decided to form my own company.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Every type imaginable, from first time apartment dwellers to retirees, and everything in between.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Be honest about your budget. There is such a wide variety of product and quality in the marketplace, that we can achieve the look you want at the price you can afford. It saves time and money in the long run to be open with your designer about your budget.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Figure out which areas have the highest priority, and try to assemble some concept photos of styles you like.
