I observe the dog and ask lots of questions. Once I assess your needs it's then up to you to decide to hire me or not.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Graduate of CATCH Canine Trainers Academy
CPDT-KA certified by Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers
Fear Free Certified Professional (fearfreepets.com)
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
$95 / hour-session
$270 / 3-pack of hour sessions
How did you get started in this business?
I taught elementary / middle school for 25 years & was a certified School Councelor, and have a keen interest in psychology. Add my love of dogs, and it seemed like a perfect match. I began looking for a program in which I could enroll that would service me best. The rest, as they say, is history.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I specialize in working with families and their dogs.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Always research the person you are looking to hire. Dog training is not a regulated field. Anyone who watches "The Dog Whisperer" can tell you they are a trainer, while nothing can be further from the truth. Go to www.apdt.com to research any prospective trainers. If they're not listed, decline their services.
