Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will send a quote with a response. I will answer any questions you have. Then if you would like me to call you please let me know. I don’t want to bother people by calling them unless requested. Then continue communications through my phone (402) 509-5115.
I can normally be able to get you in within 24-48 hours.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I worked at PetsMart for 6 years. I have been working out of my home. Which has my salon in the basement with separate entrance. For going on 4 years now.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
You can either view my prices at my Facebook. Becky’s Fur Babies or on my website beckysfurbabies.com
How did you get started in this business?
i have always loved animals my whole life. When I was little I wanted to become a veterinarian. But after I realized that I would have to euthanize some pets even though I knew it would be a humane thing to do for some pets with terminal illnesses I just don’t have the heart.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with all sizes of dogs and a few cats. Dogs that have Anxiety issues, old dogs, rescue dogs, grouchy dogs and puppies.
I am a volunteer for Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue so I have worked with mill dogs and abused.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love de-shedding dogs. I love big and bully breeds.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure they are extremely gentle with the elderly pets. To show your love and be patients with them. To not just be a groomer to the pet but be the pets friend. I have been known to play with the pets so it’s just not all work.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Is this person going to be patient, gentle, loving, take their time so you don’t scare them. Is the groomer going accommodate the dogs fears if they have any. For example. I have some dogs that are just terrified of heights or the bath tub so I have given dogs baths on my cement floor instead of making them get into the tub. I also have a few older dogs that I groom on the floor with them laying down as much as they can. Sure it’s hard to work on dogs if their laying down but their joints may hurt to bad to stand. I also have my son to help me hold the dogs up if need be.
