I work from home. I had a business and worked in a shop for 26 years.I am getting older and wanted to do less dogs a day and provide for those high anxiety fur babies that get so stressed being around so many other fur babies. I also wanted to be home with my daughter who is now 6 who needed me home more often. I have wonderful clients I have had for 6- 8 years now who followed since starting my own business. I have very good references and built a lot of trust with they’re doggies. I love working from home. Some dogs get highly stressed out going to a shop but I do one dog at a time here in my home which provides much less stress. I also pet sit one customer at a time when needed. I have about 10 clients I do that for. Would love to get more doggies to pet sit. They are treated very well here with me and can relax as if they were at home. No crates unless wanted by owner. I have a complete fenced in back yard for potty time❤️. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to talk to them about what they’re needs are and discuss what they would like me to do. Communication is key for this business. I like to reassure them I have they’re fur babies needs top priority. I will treat they’re fur baby like I would my own fur baby.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified dog groomer. I attended Nash Academy Animal Arts School. I have been grooming and pet sitting for 27 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I have a standard pricing most small dogs for full service grooming I charge $40-45 depending on dog and what service is provided. I do small and Med dogs. My set up does not allow for big dogs.
How did you get started in this business?
My Aunt and Uncle used to breed and sell Fur babies. My uncle was a Master Trainer and also a k-9 trainer. He was a police officer with a k-9 for his partner. They wanted to open a grooming business and ask me if I wanted to learn to groom for them. I decided to travel to Nash Academy School of Animal Arts in Lexington Kentucky which is a top grooming school 12 hours from my home. One of the best decisions of my life.
