Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
If working with a Buyer(s) we meet if possble and discuss the process of buying, as well as getting a prepproval done so we know the price range. An automatic search is set up so the buyer(s) can review suitable homes to see.
If working with a Seller(s) we meet at the property and review the comparable sales for similar homes. The Seller has control over the price, with professional advice from us. We also provide complimentary staging recommendations.
In both cases, all decisions are made by the client.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a Realtor for fifteen years, and work with my husband who is also a commercial realtor. We are very well trained by our company and have regularly been honored by Mpls/St. Paul magazine "Superagent".
We are also both licensed in Wisconsin and have contacts with agents in Florida.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Typically Buyers do not pay any commission, as we are paid by the Seller.
We usually charage 6% sales commission, which is divided between our broker, the Sellling agent and their broker. If we have a problematic property that requires extra service, we will raise the commission.
How did you get started in this business?
Became as Realtor when the company i worked for (Sales) went out of business and realized this was the job I should have always had.
What types of customers have you worked with?
All. We have done quite a bit of estate work, new construction, Lakeshore, existing homes, condos, townhomes. etc. We like the variety.
We provide the same top service no matter the price the client is buying or selling.
Describe a recent project you are fond of.
We are soon to close on a large townhome in Burnsville that is an estate with the representative in another state. We managed house cleaning, plumbiing repairs, carpet cleaning, etc. It was fun to have all the balls in the air and making sure everything was ready when we went live.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
It's all about chemistry, so long as the agent you are considering is experienced. It is a stressful experience, which we try to minimize for the client, but we are in this together.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Talk to a professional. It's worth your time.
