What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

1) The typical BlueChip process begins with initial client communication.  In this conversation, we will get an initial description of the problem to be solved and provide a rough price estimate when available.  In the situation, this is supplanted with the quoting process.  You may or may not receive an accurate quote at first, based upon the information received.

2a) For a repair or upgrade, the next step is a free diagnosis and quote.  We offer free pickup and dropoff in the Chippewa Valley, so you don't even have to drive to us.  On-site service is extra.  Your device will be diagnosed by an experienced technician and a quote of both price and timeframe will be provided to you for your approval prior to any work being completed.

2b) For new equipment, an exact quote will be provided for your approval before proceeding.

3a) After the quote is approved, new equipment will be procured or built exactly to your specifications and delivered directly to your site.

3b) For repairs or upgrades, your device's problem will be solved as per the quote and will be delivered directly to your site upon completion.

4) We will follow up in 1-2 weeks to ensure your complete satisfaction with your problem's solution.  At this point, we will ask politely for you to review us to assist any new customers in making their decision.

Describe a recent project you are fond of.

If I chose the biggest, most impressive project I've worked on lately, that wouldn't be the truth.  A couple months back, I built a capable gaming PC for a client who had a very low budget which was quite rewarding.  Creative solutions can often be used to help out folks who need it.  Some clever procurement, knowledge of certain components which have a high tolerance at their limits, and years of experience overclocking PCs resulted in a gaming PC which didn't look like much on paper, but performed consistently with PCs twice and three times it's price.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

Hire an IT professional who has great reviews throughout online sites such as Facebook, Yelp, Google, etc.  Ensure that this IT pro also has been in the business under their current name (or an associated name where you can still view a history of reviews).  Don't hire the cheapest pro nor the most expensive.  Going with the highest will serve nothing more than to unnecessarily lighten your wallet, going with the lowest often nets you a newbie whom you'll pay to practice on your equipment.
