About
Hello! My name is Beth and I own and run a dog walking and training company called Urban Animal Kingdom. We have been in business for four years and have amazing customer reviews.
I have years of experience working with animals, including as a veterinary assistant, wildlife rehabilitator, various roles in the Department of Natural Resources, and now my company that I started four years ago. I have my training certification and absolutely love helping dogs and their families learn to communicate and develop stronger bonds through behavior modification and training.
I use gentle guidance to show dogs the behaviors we want from them and will give you the tools to do that same. I believe in rewarding for good behavior and I don't use harmful punishment.
I train all of our dog walkers in loose leash walking techniques so that each walk with your dog is safe and fun. And all staff are trained in pet first aid and CPR.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically start by talking to a new client over the phone to ask them some basic questions and answer any questions they have. If someone is looking for dog walking services we schedule a free meet and greet to meet the client and dog and cover the routine and specific needs of that client and pup. For training clients I will typically get an idea of the behaviors that need addressing and get a plan in place to dive in right when I get there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my dog training certification through the Animal Behavior College and am working toward my CPDT-KA certification through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

How did you get started in this business?
I have always loved animals and have worked with them in many different capacities. I started walking dogs for fun and it has grown into a life that I love!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
If you are looking for a dog walker, make sure the company or dog walker you hire trains all their staff in pet first aid and CPR and that they are trained in proper walking techniques and leadership activities.
If you are looking for a dog trainer, make sure they list their credentials. Anyone can claim they are a dog trainer, even if they haven't gotten certified.
