Paws Of Love

About

Our names are Deb Bistodeau and April Crompton. We have 24 years of experiences in working, helping and caring for animals with special needs, behavioral issues and many more. We also provide medical assistance: dispensing tablets, liquids, handling seizures, providing insulin for diabetes, treating respiratory issues with nebulizer machine (for asthma, etc.), giving Sub Q (fluids under the skin to rehydrate), changing diapers and washing accidents, and many more. BSL dogs do not affect us, because everyone needs to be treated and loved equally regardless of what breed they are. We have worked in raptor, wildlife and exotic refuges and sanctuaries, too. One of us has worked as an vet assistant in several veterinary hospitals and clinics from 1991 to 2008. We also provide grooming, bathing, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, fur brushing and nail trimming every time before they go home unless otherwise. We go on walks, do playtimes in our wrap-around wooden fenced backyard. We are fluent in sign language for deaf dogs. We used to have a deaf dog for 19 years. We both are in late 40’s, retired and available to care for your dogs, cats and other species 24/7 including holidays and last minute emergencies. We work with with service & therapy animals, too. We can provide clients (1-8 years and going strong) references. Any questions, please do ask. No question is weird or silly.

We have been involved in many animal rescues and transportation since 1991. We love everything about animals so much that we forget to have human children! Ha! On a serious note, we are very diligent in monitoring everyone, healthy or with medical/special needs. We love everything about everyone in the animal world, yet we take our jobs very seriously. We are better people every time we get to know and love each animal we meet and care for. We have stayed in LA/MS for one month doing boat crews checking house to house for trapped animals, bringing injuried animals to vet doctors/surgeons on sites and reuniting others whenever possible. We also raise funds to make/buy weed chairs of all kinds from dogs all the way down to rats (we make wheelchairs by hand for anyone smaller than bunnies) to give them quality of life as long as possible. No animals scare us, not even pet rats, mice, and reptiles of many kinds. We used to have 8 foot long iguana, a bearded dragon and few others. I think they're amazing!

Both April and Deb were great, my dogs were well taken care of. I appreciate all that was done for them. I have dogs, and all of them have different personalities but all them did great. I have scheduled another dog sitting appointment already. Thanks again to April and Deb for all the love you gave to my furry babies.

Paws of Love was phenomenal!!! Our senior Boston Terrier (Millie) with disabilities could not have been in better care!!! April and Deb gave us daily updates with pictures of Millie for 3 weeks while we were on vacation. That alone made our vacation stress free. They loved her as their own. They gave her massages, baths, exercise in her wheelchair, plus mental stimulation. I would highly recommend them to anyone who has not only a healthy dog but to anyone who has a needy senior dog with disabilities!! I will never board Millie any place else. They were truly a godsend for us!

They were very communicative as we tried to work out a schedule. We didn’t end up hiring them but may in the future. I appreciated their enthusiasm for dogs.

    Frequently asked questions

We are extremely flexible. This include all kinds of animals order to meet different and/or special needs type of each person and animal. We are also very patient and non judgmental, because we want each and every animal to have the best care and their needs met. We want each parent to be happy and comforted in knowing their babies are in safe and loving environment when they are away.

We have many trainings and experiences from many organizations, refuges and sanctuaries on top of 17 years working in veterinary hospitals and kennels. In fact, we have CPR for dogs and cats life saving methods certifications coming up to update soon.

It all depends on individuals. No one is a ”One Fit for All” prices. We try to meet halfway with each and every client. Everyone is uniquely different and we do not charge excessive. Everyone deserves a safe and secure place to stay when someone needs to go somewhere. We’ve seen too many animals given up to shelters because the pet care facilities prices are prohibitively expensive to work with. We are one of the few people trying to can change that.

Deb learned her love through working in the grooming, rescuing, transporting, assisting, and training with animals since 1993. April accumulated many experiencess through her parents in family grooming and handling business. Working in veterinary hospitals provided April the extra and valuable hands on life saving experiences.

Many kinds, including unique and once in a life time kind of experiences. As a reminder to all and to ourselves, we do not judge, but to help and work with an open minded kind of approach. No one should have to feel embarrassed to ask for help.

    All of them.

Be sure to be open minded, but selective in who you work with. After all, the animals are our babies in the family.

Ask everything you need to know before deciding. It is to ensure your babies are safe, secure and cared for properly.
