Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We like to set up meeting at the house where the project will take place to go over what the homeowners want and get measurements. But with what is going on in our world today we are doing everything we can to minimize face to face interaction and set up an initial phone call to go over detail of what they homeowner is thinking amd just getting as much information we can of the first conversation. Then we set a time to just go take measurements of the space and get any new information if the homeowner has anything else to add on. Then we are able to have one more conversation to go over one last time what they are trying to accomplish for that project. But again we are doing whatever we need to at the comfort level of each individual homeowner
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
There is really no pricing standered pricing system as each project is different but if a customer reaches out provided measurements and pictures with detail of what they want done we can definitely provides a rough estimate of what the project will cost so the homeowner can see if it's in their budget. No hard push for sale or getting the project done. We are not here for a quick buck we are to make the house into YOUR HOME.
How did you get started in this business?
I got started by working with my father on the weekends and on school days off. He had his own construction business and I just loved it first day and I have been continuing to love since then.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with many customers! And I've come to learn that some customers are more detailed oriented then other. AND THAT IS OK! I have and will never get frustrated with a paying homeowner if they want stuff done a certain way it's your money and I need to make sure the work I'm doing is meeting the value your paying for.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Had a meeting with this homeowner and after we have gone through the detail of her project. She stops and tells me " I have had multiple people stop by to take a look and get an estimate for me. But I have not meet someone with then energy your are putting off I feel confident on what you are telling me and I feel like you are genuinely listing to my questions and concerns and I know you are good person trying to do your best at every job". That is what I strive for I want the homeowner to be confident that I will do everything I can to make this easy for them and that I'm not hear for easy money but to make the space they have Livable and functional.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Check their license! Make sure that is still valid and up to date (can check with the MN Dept. of labor website) it will save you headaches down the road. And just see how they are paying attention to you and your questions and concerns you can always tell by the answers they give. I understand time is money and they don't want to sit there all day talking but they won't done a good job if they aren't listening to the people that actually live there!
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Do I really want to do this?
Am I ready to move forward after receiving estimate? Or do I just want information?
If I need to leave temporarily during the project do I have a place to be?
How much time do I have to give to the contractor to address his/her questions or concerns?
