Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I am always interested in taking on new clients. The vast majority of my business is from past client referrals but I would love to expand my potential client base. I have made a niche for myself in luxury real estate market but I have a real soft spot for working with first time home buyers. Very rewarding to me.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My background has always been in sales but I am pretty handy with a hammer. I know my way around residential construction. I have firsthand experience doing everything from excavating to framing, drywall, electrical, plumbing, painting, trim carpentry, tile setting, roofing and siding, landscaping and design, you name it. I have done it all but mostly I enjoy working with buyers and sellers and I love what I do.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I am very flexible and I can accommodate all kinds of special circumstance seller’s needs. I have created special pricing structures to best relate to what my seller client wants and needs. Let's talk.
How did you get started in this business?
I got started in the business in the spring of 2003. I have always had a strong desire to get into real estate but in 2003 I was in a snowmobile accident that caused me to be laid up for months. I used that time to go back to real estate school and get licensed and learn the business. Just after establishing myself and things were going well, the real estate market dropped out. My biggest success back in 2008 was and still is adapting to the changing market and excelling.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with everyone from the first time home buyer to seasoned investor and everyone in between.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Remember that you are not simply hiring a sale person, you are looking to hire a person that you feel best represents you and your best interests. That has to be someone you trust and respect and feel comfortable with.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
-
What is my budget? Customers should have a clear idea of what they can afford before speaking with a real estate professional.
-
What is my ideal location? Consider the preferred area or neighborhood that the client wants to live in or invest in.
-
What are my priorities? Consider what features of the property are essential to the client. For example, if they are looking to buy a home, do they need a certain number of bedrooms or a large yard?
-
What is my timeline? Consider when the client wants to buy or sell a property and how much time they have to do so.
-
What are my deal-breakers? Consider the non-negotiable features of a property, such as location or property size.
-
What are my long-term goals? Consider whether the client is looking to invest in a property or buy a long-term home.
-
What financing options are available to me? Consider the various financing options available and what would be the best option for the client.
By answering these questions, clients can have a clear idea of what they are looking for, making it easier to communicate with real estate professionals and find a property that meets their needs.
