Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First thing we do is sit down and talk about what you want out of the hole experience. Then we set goals and talk about how to get there. I will then normally meet the dog if I have not already. We go over methods in witch you want to use. After that we start training. Remember this is a team effort. I train you just as much as I train your dog.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have not gone through with any schooling. However I work closely with a akc judge and trainer.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I do not have a standard pricing system at this time. It all goes by how many classes I think the dog needs. How far you are from me and what all you want to learn.
How did you get started in this business?
I start training when I was 10 years old. The first ever dog I trained was a neighbors that could not stand other dogs. While working with him to be able to process seeing other dogs I fell in love with the hole human dog bond.
What types of customers have you worked with?
The customers I work with the most are ones that have dogs with issues, or just need general obedience training.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
The most recent even I am fond of would have to be working along side my young dog. Teaching him to read my body language and learning myself how to read his. It's like dancing.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Best advice I can give you. If find someone you are comfortable with. A person that will answer your questions, even if it's the same one everytime. Someone that takes the time to show you different ways to fix a problem. The best trainers are the ones that listen to you and your dog. Remember it's a team effort. Your dog is a family member not just a thing you got to keep around.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Best questions to ask are:
What methods do you use?
How long are your classes?
Do you offer different styles of training?
Do you have any references?
How long have you been doing this?
Do you do the same training for every dog and handler?
