I have worked both professionally and personally with animals over the last 40 years. I spent 5 years as a director of a humane Society in Bozeman, Mt. during the 1990's. I currently own an 13-year old Aussie/Border Collie mix that I have trained as a service dog. Personally, I've worked with herding dogs and have done tracking, ski-jouring, amateur dog sled racing, agility, flyball and yes, herding with them. I have dog sat animals from a Norwich Terrier to a Great Dane. Each dog that has been in my care I've given special care to and extra attention. I have references upon request. I know from experience, not only as a Sitter but also as a customer, the potpourri of emotions going through us when we must leave our pets. Since I've walked in both those shoes I in turn want to provide genuine guardianship to your pet. That way you'll be secure in leaving your pet with me, and I know I'll be providing premium service to your animal.

I've loved animals since I was a child. Growing up we lived with turtles, guinea pigs, hamsters, dogs, cats, fish, birds and even two baby skunks. When I was director of a humane society in the 90s, I cared for many different animal, even a pot belly pig and a herd of goats that escaped from the Montana State University's agriculture containment area.

Why I love dog sitting

I have been a dog lover since I was young, getting a rescue puppy when I was age 6. In the 1980's I owned two Belgian Tervuren litter mates and became involve in herding, agility, tracking, flyball, amateur dog sled racing & and obedience trialing with them. From 1993 to 1999 I served as Director of the Humane Society of Gallatin Valley in Bozeman, MT. I rescued a border collie puppy in 2000 and rescued an Australian Shepard/border collie mix in 2009. My border collie mix was 3 1/2 when I adopted her from the West Branch shelter. She had been badly abused and refused to go near men. It took a year of love, caring and a lot of socialization to where she approaches men with confidence.

Meet my pets

I myself own a 13 yr old Border Collie/Aussie mix. She is very mild tempered and has no dog aggression issues. She is also a trained service dog.

My experience administering medication

I have no problem administer medication. With my dogs I've had to treat them with oral medication (both liquids and pills), ear and eye drops. I even administered salve to a lizard. Anything to keep your pet healthy.
