    Frequently asked questions

After I am contacted by a customer, I will ask them questions about the project to see if we are a proper fit for the customer and they are a proper fit for us.  There are projects we choose not to bid because they are too small, or too far away, or aren't part of our skillset, like foundations or retaining walls. I may also touch on what a possible budget could be for the customer.  If it does not fit their budget, neither of us need to waste time moving forward.  After determining the job to be a fit for us, I meet with the customer to take measurements and give an estimate

Our pricing is typically based on square footage.  Larger jobs will be a bit less per square foot than smaller jobs.  Accessibility and soil type for prep work also play into the price of the job.

I started doing concrete in the summer to pay for college, then started doing it full time afterwards.  I learned to do production flatwork as a foreman for a residential concrete company who worked for a large area builder for ten years, then I went to work for a small concrete company that did decorative concrete directly with homeowners.  I started my own company in 2010

Homeowner, residential builders and commercial construction companies

When hiring a contractor, make sure the pro you hire has experience doing the type of concrete you want. Although many concrete contractors say they do stamped concrete, very few actually know how to do it correctly. I see evidence of this all the time when I am called to try to "fix" a job done by someone else- a customer hired a contractor that said he knew how do do stamped concrete and the final result was terrible.  There were areas of concrete missed with the stamps, areas where the impression was light, areas where the color looks inconsistent with the rest of the concrete around it, birdbaths and sticky spots because the contractor began to stamp it too eary, etc. Stamped concrete requires knowledge and techniques that only come with experience and knowledge.  What good is it to get something for the cheapest price when it doesnt look good or hold up over time?

Do I have a realistic budget to get the product I want?

Is my contractor experienced enough to handle this project?

Is my contractor licensed and insured?
