About
I inspect every home as if my daughter were buying it. The reason I take this perspective is that there are a lot of "gray" areas when discussing home systems & building code requirements. At the end of the day I tell someone who is considering buying a home what I would tell me daughter.
I do 3 things for my clients:
1. Look for major issues that cost a lot of money.
2. Look for safety issues that may not cost a lot of money but could kill them.
3. Educate them about the home. In addition to that I show the clients how to take care of their new potential home & its components. Everything is going to go bad unless we slow that process down by taking care of it.
I have been doing home inspections since 1995.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
As soon as I get a message/inquiry I contact them to see what they need. After coming to an agrrement on a job I send them a very detailed email going over all the details along with prices etc & a copy of my inspection agreement.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
ASHI.org member.
ACI certified.
Hundreds of hours of training.
Passed the MIBR (Master Inspector by Review). This is a very diffcult designation in ASHI especially since the person taking the test/review has to get 100% correct to pass. How it works is a number of older inspectors find a home & find all the major defects in it. Then a group of younger inspectors go through the home trying to identify all the majors too & present this to the committee. They have to get ALL the major defects to pass.
Now I am involved with the training aspect, finding the home & judging the candidates. Our goal is to develop better inspectors in our organization.
