Make sure contractor has experience in that kind of work and see reviews of the kind of work you are seeking help with and not on just this site. Try a Google search.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Get an indea of what you want in your project (materials) and designs so the pro knows what he/she is getting into to better help with your project.
