What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Make contact, understand what the client is trying to acomplish. Evaluate starting point of project - design program list of needs and wants. What documents are available plans, site plan, photos, scrap book images, notes, photos.
Schedule a meeting at site "Design Consultation" 1-2 hours based on scope of work and services needed propose a fee schedule to complete the work.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelor of architecture degree 1982 Architect license 1987 Worked for major firms in Canada, and Hartford CT for 3 years, started own practice Lasse Aspelin & Assoc. in 1988
30 years professional experience in all phases of architecture. Capability of delivering project with Design Build. I have my own construction company and completed over 20 renovation addition projects and custom homes.

Pricing depends on the services needed and how many hours of time required for project development, design, CAD, construction drawings, interiors (if requested), other.
A fee proposal will be developed at the end of the first meeting the Design Consultation Meeting at clients house.
How did you get started in this business?
Dream of becoming an architect when I was a teeenager. Persued college and bachelor of architecture degree at Cal Poly Univ. San Luis Obispo, CA
What types of customers have you worked with?
Homeowners, business, goverment clients, large companies, small companies, restaurant developers, retail store clients. All maner of small and large clients needing renovation and or addition services.
Retirement couples needing custom designed houses.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I play euphonium in 4 different community bands around my home and office in Stafford Springs CT. I play in concerts in Glastonbury, Willimantic (victorian days) Boston (festival of bands), ECSU performing arts center Willimantic, and other locations.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Do your homework, gather all of your documents (plans, photos, site plan, your ideas - scrapbook other) Go to architects web site and understand the process, and fees.
