What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Originally from Sarasota, Florida, I have worked with animals for 12 + years. I began working at the Petco Training Camp, where I learned how to handle and take care of small animals (rodents, birds, and exotic pets). I also attended classes at Pet Smart’s Animal Career Center. I studied through Penn State and it’s sister school Penn Foster Career College for Grooming, Animal Psychology, Pet Behavior, Animal Science/Anatomy, Animal Care, and Pet Training. I worked for local grooming shops in Peabody, Massachusetts as an assistant groomer. I also worked at a local dog daycare facility as a Daycare Attendant and Groomer. I am animal CPR certified and a Short Term Animal Paramedic. I currently am Mommy to an Australian Dingo “Colby”, a Schnauzer “Tyson”, and my non-furry children, Thomas and Sara. My goal was to open a dog daycare where every dog was like our own, where we would just be above and beyond all the issues that I had working at previous facilities & I am happy and so ecstatic that we have done exactly that! We have established an awesome customer base since our opening and I am proud to say that many of our regular customers are now some of my very good friends!

Describe a recent project you are fond of.
have specialized in working with all kinds of animals from cavies to dogs to horses and back around again. I started off helping to raise poultry on a family member’s farm. I then began assisting with two horses who boarded on their property and then moved on to caring for dogs and puppies when they decided to breed Golden Retrievers. For a while I got into beekeeping and upon finding out I was deathly allergic, I got more and more involved with Great Scott’s 4-H Club out of Essex County where I quickly climbed the ladder from being just a member, to vice-president and then president of the club. During this time we began a dog 4-H club and a COMPACT training club where I trained my Golden Retriever and Husky mix the proper skills and etiquette required for them to visit residents of nursing homes and hospitals. During this time we also did a lot of agility training with the dogs in our group. I still volunteer at the Topsfield Fair yearly with the responsibility of health-checking and temperament testing the rabbits and cavies. In addition, we also spend a lot of time educating the public about proper pet care. I have worked at Gimme Chews & Moore in Haverhill, MA where I acquired a lot of my knowledge about canine nutrition from as well as New England Dog Biscuit Company in Salem, MA. Currently I have four fur-children and my baby Lacey! I started at Lucky Dogs a few months after the grand opening and have been here ever since!
