We worked with an architect from NH who had to withdraw from the job and recommended dak. My wife and I raised the possibility of a larger scale project to modernize the style of the house. dak developed a plan that rebuilt the house except for our previously remodeled kitchen and original foundation. This new plan converted our house into modern design with a more open floor plan, new roof line, loft space, re-finished basement (and the second bathroom). dak was able to fit this into an only slightly expanded footprint in order to comply with town regulations. dak kept our budget in mind and would present different price options for us to choose to allow us to come up with a reasonable comprise between price with style. dak worked with the town to make sure our design stayed within our zoning and conservation restrictions. The house is beautiful and works better than we could have imagined. dak provided the creativity to design a renovation plan that was truly transforming. Catherine Shea and Chip Celenza

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Single Family Homes

Interview the client to see what they require, ie bedrooms, kitchen, garage, etc.

Ask them to provide photos of what they like.

Prepare designs in sketch form

Meet with the client to obtain on the design

Revise the design to reflect client input

When design concess is reached we enter design concept into the computer

This process is repeated until we have drafted plans and elevations. At this point we prepare a rendering, cost estimate and obtain any relief from the muncipality that is required.

Prepare construction drawings

Provide final bid

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

Architects base fees for services based on billable hourly rates or a percentage of construction costs.

Construction fees are estimated by the job. dak estimates our cost of materials and labor for each project.
