Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Well we are going to make sure you are comfortable with the job happening in your home and I'll be there every day to explain the process to the customer and we are never going in to your house when you are not there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been working in the trades for over 20 years and I have been working on getting my csl done. I started out as a carpenter helper when I was 20 years old. I have fallen in love with the trade and I took a apprenticeship and I have been working in the trades since.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
All estimates are made using a time and materials formula using software that is location specific so the customer gets our most accurate estimate. A customer will never be charged more than the estimate unless change orders are signed and agreed upon by the customer and MTW Contracting.
How did you get started in this business?
I started as a helper when I was 20. I was employed by a number of residential and commercial construction firms. As my skill set grew I decided to start sub contracting for these same firms. Until a few years ago I decided to open my own doors at MTW Contracting.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with all kinds of customers. Senior citizens to newlyweds. (We have a senior citizens discount) We work with any race, religion and orientation. We happy to serve all of whom that ask us to make their remodeling dream come to life.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I had a couple hire us to build a handicap ramp and deck for a woman in a wheelchair to get to her hot tub which was part of her therapy to treat her disability. The smile on the woman's face was priceless.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Find a contractor that will offer you a guarantee (like we do) that if things don't go how they expect they will be there to make things right.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Any kind of specifics that they want. Budgets that they have.
