Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typical process of making a appointment with us would start with a phone call or email enquiry. This would consist of either a estimate over the phone or a time to schedule a in-house estimate. Your in house estimate would include a full inspection of the chimney followed up by a emmediate price quote detailing what the repair will consist of. You are then given you options for payment and time frame for completion. Then you decide when you would like the work done. At which time a small deposit is required and your service is locked in for completion. Then the crew arrives at the scheduled time to complete the requested work. Payment is due upon completion, satisfaction is guaranteed and warranty’s explained. We thank you for your business and you thank us for our hard work! Everybody is happy!🙂
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All our techs are Chimney Saftey Institute of America trained and members of both the National Chimney Sweep Guild and National Fire Protection Agency.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
our standard pricing for cleaning any chimney is $99.95 for new customers additional flues are extra. Inspections for prospective repairs are always free and home iinspections for home sales or transfers are also $99.95. Standard caps are priced between $100-$200. Some custom work prices can be given over the phone or internet other work requires a in house estimate.
How did you get started in this business?
we got our start as young people being guided by our fathers that were masons and a little bit of dreaming inspired by Mary Poppins!
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have worked with all types of homeowners throughout the north east but are a New England based company. We are willing to work with everybody regardless of budget we know how to relate to people of all sorts from the homeowner struggling to make ends meet to the very fortunate homeowners and business owners of the world. We can figure out a reasonable plan to deal with anybodies problems.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A recent and recurring event that I am always very fond of is when it happens is when a customer tells me after a job is completed successfully about all the people that have tried before me and failed. That always brings a smile to my face. What really makes me smile though is when the customers get personal and start treating us like friends instead of employees. That always makes me smile and feel like we are doing something right!🙂
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
The most important advice I could tell a customer I’m dealing with any service professional is get personal with them. They are in your home get to know the people you are working with and you will learn their intentions in dealing with you. Make people care about your home make sure they will treat you like it is their own. If you like them cross reference with their online reviews and make a educated decision.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
ask to see the material the contractor is using.
ask how they are going to complete the work intended and try to understand exactly what they are asking you to spend your money on.
dont be afraid to ask questions and be up front with your contractor. If you have other estimates after you get your price don’t be afraid to take them out and compare them with your technision while you have them in house.
