East Side Studio Architects
About
Are you looking for excellent design that creates value through beauty, good flow, and expertise about proportion, detail, and client satisfaction? I approach design as an art, creating a happy process for you as well as a beautiful, practical finished product. Listening actively to your hopes and dreams, I work with your vision to give you a solution beyond your expectations.
As a published illustrator, painter, and award winning architect, I can sketch any 3D view in a meeting, and we produce 3D CAD plans that you can “walk through." With over 35 years of experience in architecture, I worked for renowned firms with high standards before starting on my own. We produce detailed construction drawings and work closely with excellent contractors, eliminating the stress caused by surprises, wasted time, and cost overruns.
We love helping clients get excited about excellent design.
We believe a home, no matter the size, should be a retreat, a private resort that connects to you to nature, light and well-being. We’re committed to sustainable design, including using local materials that lower the carbon footprint while maintaining a connection to our New England region.
I look forward to hearing about your project!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
You can see the full “Poetry of Place” process on my website. The first step is to listen and understand your needs, hopes and dreams. After a preliminary or schematic design that is within your budget is completed and agreed upon, the design is developed and specifications are completed, adding detail and take into consideration appliances, fixtures and finishes. Finally, detailed construction drawings are completed and the project is put out to bid. During construction, we round out a team - owner, architect, and contractor - to keep the design intent intact, and the schedule and cost in check.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yale School of Architecture

Licensed in Cwith NCARB reciprocity
