Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Upon the initial phone call, I will find out the owners schedule, what dog type, confirm size, age, approximate date since last grooming, medical history which would relate to grooming, and find out whether it’s a pet which requires a style, or if it is a bath and brush type of breed. The pet’s style cannot be determined until I actually see the dog. If it is a styling breed, and the coat is in good shape, I can do any cut of owner’s preference. Otherwise a humane length will be chosen. A pre-booked appointment will insure the next cut is to owner’s preference. It must be understood by all, that I can give price estimates only. Some jobs take longer when there is extra shedding or matting is present. Pups in good shape and on a regular schedule have predictable pricing!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Tested and certified by the National Dog Groomers Association of America
Grooming Ambassador for Best Shot Pet Products International; being involved in product ingredient knowledge and application, and groomer education at tradeshows
Veterinary Assistant
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
There is a standard price based on size, breed type, coats in good condition, 4-6 week grooming intervals, and reasonable behavior. Additionally and emphatically, if you are looking for the cheapest groomer in town, look elsewhere. If you want excellence, professionalism, and a loving caring touch, you will find it here. ❤️

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have volunteered my services at Humane Society’s. When they get their bubble baths and pretty haircuts, they feel, look, and act so great, that they get adopted quickly.
I have rescued dogs from Amish puppy mills. They are in unspeakable condition. You can tell that they are so appreciative when they get cleaned up. Their eyes shine their tails wag and they find their forever home.
I have been to dog shows where the other dog that I groomed won, but not mine. 😝 Bittersweet
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
In my business, it is common to find a Shop having cheap prices with employees who are under experienced, over-worked, under payed, low moral, who don’t get continuing professional education. Shops can be noisy and dirty.
With me, you will find that I am an older, wiser, confident, down to earth savvy person. Well worth my fees. Your pet will return for repeat appointments wagging their tails
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What is the quality of the work being performed? Will it be to breed standard? Do you know how to do a pet modified version? If there is a problem, may I talk to you about it? Will you at least attempt to give me satisfaction with an issue? Do you have professional insurance? Are you certified or have the equivalent experience? Will I be judged on the condition of my dog? Are you empathetic with my situation? What are the chances of my dog being hurt or uncomfortable? How well do you know the ingredients of the liquids that you are using on my pet?
