Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First we dicuss your home or business window tinting needs. We asses what you're trying to accomplish, whether it be privacy, or reducing heat and glare. Maybe you're looking to enhance the appearance of your space with our decorative films.
After we've agreed upon a solution, we set an appointment to take measurements of the desired areas you want tinted. Once we've gotten the measurements, we provide you with a written estimate. When the estimate is approved, we proceed with scheduling and installation.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Aside from 45 years in experience we are IWFA certified,
Solar Control Specialists
& Advanced Solar Control Specialists
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Our pricing system is based on the areas you would like covered, and which film fits your needs. We offer a wide range of home & commercial window tint. The difference between our films is the heat rejection, what it's made of, and the appearance.
How did you get started in this business?
Our owner was working as an EMT when he crossed paths with patient from Saint Louis. This encounter would soon change his life after he introduced Brian to the newly developed automotive tinting industry. There was NOBODY else doing tinting in Kansas City. This was at a time when tools didn’t exist, and they were spraying adhesive on the windows and then applying the film. There were no machines to cut the patterns for them, or Youtube videos to show them how to do it. The only tint color offered at the time was silver. 1975 was the year he officially established Midwest Tinting. Little did he know that it would become the #1 choice of consumers, dealerships, body shops and collision centers for tinting and paint protection.
As the industry progressed, Brian spent the majority of his time researching the best products and tools that became available. Business started booming and before he knew it, he needed a lot more man power – and a lot more space. Over the last 45 years, he went from a one man show, in a one car garage, to THREE locations, and over 25 employees. Business expanded beyond automotive tinting, to commercial and residential tinting, and then eventually into other aftermarket customizations.
Being a leading innovator of tinting in the Kansas City area, Brian has continued to pride himself in having the most highly trained technicians, and offering the best products on the market. By holding multiple titles and accreditations, and competing annually amongst the best installers in the world at the IWFA tinting competition, our team continues to show consumers why they can trust our master craftsmanship.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have worked with a wide variety of customers. From home owners, to contractors, to interior designers, our experts are here to help get the job done efficiently, and professionally.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure you inquire about their experience in the field, and what kind of warranty comes with your purchase. Check out their reviews on Google and or Facebook.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
I would advise customers that are shopping around to make sure you have an idea of how many windows you want tinted and what is your goal? Do you want a reflective film that provides a lot of privacy? Do you want a film that looks as natural as possible? Do you want a decorative film that enhances the appearance? Decipher what your needs are and check out their website for more information.
