About

Matthew Morgan Designs in an interior design and staging company that specializes in affordable design with a high end high impact look.

I specialize in quick designs that still look curated and thoughtful so that my client can enjoy their spaces within days as opposed to a project that could last months or years.

The best way to see a room come together is when it comes together. After I get a good sense of my client's style from the consultation, I do the work. Your space becomes the mood board and rendering and if needed we adjust from there. You will be seeing your space live and come together before your own eyes so there is zero risk to any misinterpretation and you can enjoy your space quickly.

I love stepping into my work. I get to take all of my crazy, creative and manic energy and build a space where I can actually step into my art. Then I get to bring my client into that! The appreciation of a client is what drives me. Seeing the relief on their face when they see I understood them. The amazement they convey when they talk about how they never would have been able to put it together the same way. But mostly the excitement and (at times) relief they feel when they realize this is their space! This is something that they get to enjoy. Whether it be a property they now get to live in or a space that has been reimagined and will help them to sell.

    Frequently asked questions

I always meet with a new client for a design consultation.

If it's a staging I discuss with the real estate agent who they think the buyers will be.

With an interior design client I get a sense of their personal style. I ask questions like what their favorite hotels, restaurants and stores are to get a sense of their style. I talk through colors, metals, likes and dislikes as well as a series of other probing questions.

After I have a good sense, I do! We can get started right away. I typically shop with my clients credit cards so they can keep all their points. This also makes it easy to return anything thing they don't like, even if it is weeks after the project has ended so their is almost zero risk to using my services.

I have a degree in interior design.

I have styled and designed close to a hundred spaces within the last 8 years.

Before opening up my own company and doing interior design full time, I worked for a high end event design company that transformed premium venues and spaces throughout the Chicagoland area. This blends perfectly with staging since I would have to consitantly blend the style of my client with the venue without making any permanent changes. I became an expert at showcasing the most special details of the space while turning guest's eyes away from the not so aesthetically pleasing aspects.

I absolutely know how to design outside the box but also know how to work inside the box as well which is a key trait for a good stager.

My stagings are all based on the furniture needed for each space and are all custom quoted. A full staging design and 3 month rental of furniture and all decor starts at $1800.

$1500 is my minimum interior design fee which includes up to 10 hours of styling and design services. Depending on the size of space, the work needed, and the amount of trust the client has with me, I’d say most rooms typically average about 8-12 hours to complete. My rate is $125 an hour after the 10 hour minimum. I also do all my own handy work, including hanging and furniture construction so you don’t need to hire someone separately for that.
