Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Any good inspector will want prospective owners to be present at the inspection. Seeing somebody explain your house's systems and how they work will always be more valuable than reading a report, and it gives you the opportunity to ask questions and get clarifications in the moment.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Attended A.S.H.I. school for Home Inspectors. Have over 30 years of remodeling / repairing homes experience, including a Chicago Historical Bungalow.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My Home Inspection Company offers a very competitive pricing, and very detailed reports that are easy to understand. We always spend as much time with our customers to answer any questions and walk them through the workings of their new home. Also, I'm always available to answer any question that you may have even after the inspection is completed.
How did you get started in this business?
I've always looked at how home were built and what needed to be done to keep them up. My weekends have always been helping others with their home, or answering questions about issues with their home.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I've worked with every type of customers from New home buyers, Condo / Townhome buyers, and even buys that are looking at buying a building for a total rehab.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Hire the company that cares about the quality of work that they do, and the reputation that follows them. each inspection that I perform is one the only one that I care about. I treat your home as if it was my own, and you should expect the same anybody you hire. Make sure that you're comfortable and that the inspector will take you along with his inspection so that he can explain the systems and the defects that he finds as well as the all good points.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Look at you home and write down any questions that you have and when you speak to the inspector the first time ask the inspector if you my follow him around the property, as many questions may arise that you want to know the answers too.
