Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to talk by phone to describe my philosophy, pricing, and to answer questions. We walk through the scope of each project, discuss timing and see if we're a good fit. I ask each client to complete a survey before we meet - it's a way for me to get to know likes and dislikes in advance. When we meet, there's a lot of information to absorb, so I follow up every consultation with an email summary. My goal is to provide concrete suggestions so at the end of each consultation, the client has something tangible in hand to help plan next steps.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
All pricing is based on an hourly rate. See our Services page on the website for more detailed pricing information: www.eyetoeyeinteriors.com/services/
How did you get started in this business?
I have a creative backround in music, art and theater. I staged my own property after it was on the market for 2 months in a very difficult market (Aug 2007); after staging, the condo sold in 10 days. My realtor said I had a "knack." So I trained at the Midwest Staging and Redesign Institute and became a Qualified Redesign Specialist. Soon after, Eye to Eye Interiors, LLC was born. Since 2007, I've assisted thousands of homeowners with their staging and interior decorating dilemmas.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with both residential and commercial properties. All spaces are unique and I enjoy the challenge of working in a new space with every project. Most of my clients are busy homeowners who simply don't have the time to make their home look the way they'd like. That's where I come in!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Ask around, read reviews, look at photos. Ask for references and satisfy yourself with a level of comfort before proceeding with any contractor or designer. You'll be working closely with this person and sometimes over a long period of time, so if you don't "click," it won't be a good fit. It's your home, so be picky!
