I enjoy creating a project around a particular piece of decor that is part of the client's home or office that is meaningful to them. It might be an special table or chest that is loved by the client or a desk that was the client's grandfathers. Homes should look like they have evloved with the personality of the client.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our first meeting is usually an hour meeting. We talk and look at the current project! We discuss your vision, your plans, how you want the space to feel and how you want the space to function. We also discuss your budget and if you have done any research about the average cost of your particular project is!
Working together with an interior designer requires a strong line of open and direct communication to obtain the best results.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My actual degree is in Pharmacy, design and decorating were always a hobby for me. In my first 20 years of marriage we moved 10 times. So I have much experience with taking a space new to me and creating a warm and inviting home for my family. We actually had the opportunity to live abroad for 3 years. During that time I did not practice pharmacy but travelled through the Pacific Asia Rim and parts of Europe I also concentrated on taking all the decorating and design classes I could find. When we moved back to the states we purchased a badly neglected 10 year old home in Atlanta. I served as my own general contractor and designer to create my dream home. And then only after 6 months we moved to the Chicago area where I opened White Oak Interiors! I love what I do so being in business for 20 years has been a pure joy.

consultations are $120.00 per hour when meeting with clients and on the project location
Outside Vendor Fee of 10% of what and tradesperson charges or cost of furniture
Accessory Fee of 25 % of the price of all accessories
Window treatments : usual and customary

Be honest about your likes , your dislikes, and your budget!
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Be certain all desicion makers are at the meetings ! Do some homework about you project so you are familiar with an overview of what is involved so you can ask questions . Ask to do a completed project.
