What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Prior to meeting with a business or Designer/Decorator in the design industry;
Verify that you are talking to a reputable company (Are they lisc. and insured? Do they have liability insurance?)
Request to communicate directly with one or multiple of their recent clients (in the past 2 years).
Ask to see images of one or two of their most recent projects.
it's simple but often over looked, and sounds like 'common sense', but can often be over looked; Follow your gut. If you meet with or talk to a designer/decorator over the phone or in person and don't feel 'comfortable' or that this is a correct fit for your needs - do not hire them.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
The most important details any designer/decorator will immediately ask;
1. What is your Budget?
2. What is your Timeline?
3. What exactly do you want to have accomplished?
(These are very important for both you and your designer to know. Please take the time to sort these three details out and your project will always run smoother.)
