Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will usually provide a phone interview with clients to assess their needs as well as to see if we’re going to be a good fit.
Once we’ve established that there’s a potential for working together, I will probably ask a series of questions so that I can be prepared to bring some things over once I come to their location.
It is always a plus to have some examples of what you like as well as your floorplans if possible. If not, we can take care of everything.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I put an interior designer for more than 15 years. I have done huge medical facilities all over the United States and home interiors as well as the hospital in China.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Normally my fees are $150 an hour but I’m pretty fast once I get a solid interview with my clients.
I preferred to have a conversation with my client and to provide them with a quote so they know what they’re getting into.
How did you get started in this business?
It’s a funny story that I like to share with people when I meet them.
However, I’ve always had a passion for design and a natural talent for interiors. It made sense for me to pursue this more formally!
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work private homeowners, to large businesses. I’ve done corporate offices, tons of medical, a large amount of home interiors.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I’m horribly distressed over Notre Dame burning;-(
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I think the biggest thing is that you’ve got to make sure that your designer understand your needs and that you mesh with them.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
I think the biggest thing is to identify whether or not you have a particular fondness for a certain style. Do you like contemporary, or do you like traditional, or are you eclectic.
I try to keep it simple for my client so that they don’t get too overwhelmed by the details. That’s up to us to take care of.
