About
I recenty retired after 12 years of being an emergency veterinary Technician. I have extensive training in health and the animals well being, as well as animal behavior, training and modification. We've been doing animal boarding in our house for the last two years for friends, family and neighbors. We only take in 2 dogs and 2 families of cats into our home at a time for boarding. We have two spare bedrooms, one for each family of cats to stay in. It has cat trees window perches and a couch and lots of toys for the cats comfort and entertainment in both rooms. Outside the windows we have bird and squirrel feeders. Cats are interacted with 3 times daily, boxes are scooped 2-3 times daily and they are fed according to your request (free feed or at a certain time(s)). When we have dogs stay with us they are free to be in the house with us as our own dogs. They have access to the entire house (unless owner states otherwise). Dogs are walked 1 mile (or 30 minutes daily) and are allowed out in the fenced yard as much as they would like. I am home all day. We have lots of dog toys and beds which are cleaned after each boarding dogs visit, and boarding dogs never interact with each other. Just with us. They are fed according to owners request. And meds can be given if need be. We are happy to send reports and/or updates and pictures as frequently as you request! We know leaving a furry family member behind is difficult, and we try to make it as easy on you as possible.
I get to stay home with dogs and cats all day! It really doesn't get much better than that! I enjoy getting to help people feel better and comfortable about leaving their dogs behind while they have to leave town. We always had a hard time finding someone we were comfortable with for our own dogs, so we try to make this as seem-less and easy for each owner we work with. Special requests more than welcome!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
They are welcome to stop by our home, or we can send pictures and/or a virtual walk through video of our home and property. We can e-mail or talk on the phone about expectations/needs of their pet, either for boarding or training or just walks/potty breaks. I am always available through my cell phone.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated college with a degree in Zoology, and animal Behavior. I also have a certification that took two years of school and 5+ years in the field, to be called a VTS(ECC). Which is a veterinary technician with a specialty in emergency and critical care. I also show and train my own dogs in many performance sports such as agility, Flyball, disc, dock diving, and obedience.

How did you get started in this business?
I used to pet sit for my friends and neighbors growing up, and I realized I really enjoy being around animals, so I went to school for veterinary medicine and quickly realized I would much rather be a technician. It grew from there when I realized I also wanted to learn more about training and behavior.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Always make sure you and your pet are comfortable with the person you pick. If you or your pet aren't comfortable with a person, keep looking. There are a lot of great pet sitters out there and we love what we do!
