I have owned, care for and raised dogs all my life. As a professional trainer I have been training dogs for at least 16 years. I have trained dogs here in Illinois, Indiana, Georgia and Tennessee. Through my company Chato Personal Dog Training, we train dogs with kindness and compassion using "Positive Reinforcement" which means Award based non-discipline or punishment, but with correctin, yes. I strongly believe that my job as a Professional dog Trainer is not simply to train dogs, but to also be an educator to the dog's family.
I enjoy working with all kinds of animals. I have raised and cared for dogs since I was a child. I believe as a professional dog trainer that I am not only training the dog but educating the owners as well. All dogs need to acquire at least Basic Obedience Training to be controllable, safe and happy with their "Forever Family!" I strive to provide the most complete, kind and professional training I can for each dog and their families. I work to make the training a "Fun" thing for the family, not a task or a job. A satisfied customer to me is a happy and safe family with their dog.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Initial meeting with customer, to make an assessment of the Dog and discuss and finalize the amount and type of training desired by owner. Initial instruction sheets will be provided the owner as part of the Chato Personal Training manual. Written Logs are given to owner and collected each week to determine and record the progress/and/or problems of the dog. Continuous, direct communication and Training instructions are maintained with the Dog owner through the Phone, text and email.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have "hands-on" training 6 of the 16 years I have been professionally training with companies in Illinois and Tennesse which includes in debt studying & research in Theory & applications of Training/Behavior Modification. I am currently working on achieving certification as an Official Evaluator through AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy, Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Community Canine (CGCA) and AKC Urban Canine Good Citizen
