What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

The first step is to have a consultation with the customer (whether buying or selling). I prefer to do the consultation in person. If it is not possible to meet in person, then a phone consultation wil suffice. The objective is to learn about the customer's needs. What is their reasons for moving (buying or selling), the desired areas, type of home, features they would like and also the desired price range.

If the customer has a home to sell, I will do a no-obligation assessment to let them know what needs to be done to sell their home for top dollar. Afterwards, I will also provide an estimated sales price for their home. If they need to find a home, then we will discuss what they are looking for in their new home. 

If the customer needs a mortgage lender, I have several with whom I work closely. I have known most of them since I have been in real estate. I also have contractors who can help with any repairs or upgrades the customer might desire.


What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have earned my 203K Specialist designation and I am a Certified Pre and Post Closing Counselor. Should the customer need short sale expertise, I am also a Certified Distressed Property Expert. 


How did you get started in this business?

I saw a need for better service in the real estate industry and decided I would be the change needed.


What types of customers have you worked with?

Sellers, first time buyers, retirees and empty nesters, move up buyers, and luxury buyers and sellers (over $500K).


What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

Make sure you have a consultation to be sure the professional understands your needs as well as your wants. 


What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?

1) Why do they want to move?

2) Where do they want to move?

3) What features do they need in their new home and what features they want in their new home?

4) How much house can they afford?

5) If they found the perfect house, could they purchase it?
