About
Hi, my name is Liz and I am the owner of Pooch Purrfect Mobile Grooming. I would love to help you out with your grooming needs. My business is different in that I groom pets in the comfort of their own home to reduce stress. All I need is a sink or tub to wash them in and a 4 by 4 space to set up my table.
My service is geared towards dogs and cats under 40#s.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet the customer and their pet and talk to them about what their ideal groom would be. After I have an idea of what they want I want to get to know the dog a bit before I start doing anything they find scary. I like to play with them or cuddle to reassure them they can trust me. Then comes the groom with breaks as necessary. After the groom I can go over with the pet parent the best ways to maintain the coat and to keep it at a length they like.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to a grooming academy and then apprenticed under a groomer for almost two years. I also spent some time working at a vet office learning how to work with pets with special needs. There is always something new to learn in grooming so I also try to go do online classes and yearly seminars to keep up with the styles!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Prices are based on size, coat type, and distance of groom. If the dog is matted or aggressive there may be additional fees because the service will take longer.
How did you get started in this business?
I started working with rescue groups when I was 14. I have always sought jobs in the animal field. I worked with horses, at a vet, as a pet nutritionalist. Then a few years ago an old boss called me and asked me if I would be interested in training to be a groomer. I had some basic knowledge and wanted to learn more so I jumped at the chance! It was the best choice I have ever made, I love what I do!
What types of customers have you worked with?
All types! With my background in animal rescue I really specialize in dogs and cats with anxiety and behavior issues.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Starting my own business! Gathering everything I need for my set up has been really fun! I’m a grooming equipment addict! It took about six weeks to get everything together.

What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Have an idea of what you want your dog to look like. Include a picture of the cut you want if possible. Ask if the cut is possible. Some cuts do not work on some coat types. Ask about what shampoos and conditioners they offer and what are the benefits of them. Ask to see pictures of their grooms.
