What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

The first step is the Consultation, which takes place at your home or business and consists of a question and answer session.  You, tell us what you want done.  We inquire about such things as color, fabric, furniture styles and other preferences.  We listen carefully and take notes.  During this consultation, we take photographs of your surroundings.  We ask to see the rest of your home or facility even if you are not requesting help with those areas.  This allows us to design to incorporate the entire space.  We present our portfolio of work, in a effort to better understand your style and desires.  Next we will discuss the monetary investment required to achieve the look, quality and experience you desire.  

Phase II is Design of your project.  We will spend some time walking thru your space, making more notes and taking measurements.  We then begin the creative process of developing a scheme individually suited to your needs.  Colors and fabrics are selected, furniture styles determined and floor plans are developed.  Next is the Presentation.  We design a storyboard which will walk you thru the design plan.  You will see fabrics, finishes, colors, samples, window treatments, furniture --- anything necessary for us to give us to give you a clear mental picture of your design.  At this time, prices are presented for each specific item that we recommend.  If you do not like something, perhaps a fabric or furniture style, we will adjust the plan to suit your preference.

Now, we are ready to move to the Ordering and Production process.  We have several teams in place in addition to the designer to control and track projects.  You may not hear from us, but we are checking and monitoring each stage of your new design. 

Finally --- the Installation.  We ask that you give us access to your home, so we can present the big reveal.  With the exception of paint, carpet and wallpaper, everything is done on the same day.  We will also bring in (for your approval) anything necessary to complete the room and make it more beautiful.  We will not pressure you --- we only give great design work. 


What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a Design Diploma from an accrediated design school. Have taken other classes on design elements, ideas, new products, etc. throughout my business tenue.  I have had a successful design business for over 30 years.


Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

The first step is the Consultation, a fee of $250 payable when arriving at your home or business and consists of a question and answer session.  You, tell us what you want done.  We inquire about such things as color, fabric, furniture styles and other preferences.  We listen carefully and take notes.  During this consultation, we take photographs of your surroundings.  We ask to see the rest of your home or facility even if you are not requesting help with those areas.  This allows us to design to incorporate the entire space.  Next we will discuss the monetary investment required to achieve the look, quality and experience you desire.  

Arbor House Interiors offers Design Services with the purchase of furniture, accessories, wall décor, and/or area rugs from the designer’s wide array of top quality preferred vendors.  Design service is defined as pulling the total look together, and is limited to the specific room for which the products are purchased.

 Beginning with a  retainer based on your budget we begin working on your design. This is the most cost effective way of working with Arbor House Interiors. Most of the work is done in our office, less meetings, and we don't go shopping together.

 Labor only projects are offered with a non-refundable hourly design fee.  Available labor only projects include:

Arranging and/or Rearranging Customer’s Own Products* to include:

Accessory Displays ♦ Wall Décor ♦ Furniture ♦ Area Rugs

♦ Floor Plans ♦ Paint Consultations

♦ Design Suggestions without Product Purchases

♦ Local Retail Shopping for Specific Customer Requests

(Fee applies from departure time until return to the design studio)

 Retainer Policy

 

Arbor House Interiors provides research, design work, and completes presentation story board(s) for room and/or window treatment designs with the payment of a retainer.  The retainer is required before any research and design work commences, and is paid upon scheduling the presentation date.  The retainer amount is based on the scope of work to be designed.  The retainer is non-refundable, however, the fee may be applied toward the purchase of those products presented up to (30) days from the date of paying the retainer.  If products are not purchased within that time, Arbor House Interiors will keep the retainer for services rendered.  Arbor House Interiors is happy to accommodate nominal revision requests; however, requests beyond what is ‘usual and customary’ are available with the payment of the non-refundable hourly design fee noted above.  The hourly fee for additional designs does not apply toward the purchase.  Design presentation story boards are the intellectual property of the designer and may not be kept or photographed by the client.

 Residential - 5% of Budget Estimate

Commercial - 10% of Budget Estimate
