Richardson Home Inspections will provide you with a comprehensive home inspection and a report you can rely on. Whether it's a home inspection, radon testing, mold testing, well inspection, roof inspection, plumbing inspection, electrical inspection, or septic inspection, you will always have peace of mind with any service you require.
My name is Shawn Richardson and as a Certified Professional Inspector, I have the training and the knowledge to get the job done right. I proudly served my country in the United States Navy before working as a general contractor and home builder for 15 years. I am a graduate of ICA (Inspection Certification Associates) and a proud member of InterNACHI ( International Association of Certified Home Inspectors).
The thing I enjoy the most about inspecting homes is the ability to help a new home buyer, by giving them information that they need to make the best choice for their new home.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We contact the customer before the home inspection to schedule the inspection and go over there concerns about the home and the process of the inspection. On the day of the inspection, I arrive about 30 minutes before the inspection and perform the roof inspection on the home. Yes, I walk on the roof, if walkable. Them I meet with the client and go over the findings on the roof. We then do the rest of the inspection. I encourage all my clients to be present for the inspection and to walk with me and ask questions. I will point out areas of concern during the inspection. At the end, we will sit down and go over the findings. I can give ballpark estimates on repair pricing and advice on other items that may need attention.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a graduate of ICA (Inspection Certification Associates) a member of InterNACHI, and a Certified Professional Inspector. I have over 190 hours of continuing education courses completed.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My pricing system is based on square footage of the home.
How did you get started in this business?
I was a home builder and remodeler for 15 years. My wife and I purchased a home that was new to us. The company that did our home inspection missed so much and cost us thousands of dollars for a house that if we had known about the issues, we would not have bought. It was then that I decided that I would not let this happen to anyone else. Georgia is a none licensed state. What this means is that anyone can decide to be a home inspector on any day. Please check your inspector's credentials before hiring him or her.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I've worked with all kinds of customers. From first time home buyers, investors, sellers, agents, flippers and many others. It doesn't matter who I work for, every inspection that I perform I treat as if it were a home that I was buying for my family.
Describe a recent project you are fond of.
I'm fond of all my projects, even though most of the inspections are alike, the people are different.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure their inspector has the proper training. Don't be afraid to ask for their credentials and certifications.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
In the home inspection field, the customer should make sure this is the house for them. Don't rush into a home, make sure it's a good fit for you and your family.
