Home Dog Training of North Georgia has years of experience training dogs and puppies to their full potential. We create a positive relationship between you and your canine companion to make your dog the best that they can be in every situation. A well tempered dog that is confident and ready for new experiences is a great companion. We use proven techniques that are humane and effective because a well trained dog is a happy dog.
It is our belief that training is the process of teaching the dog good manners while also working on proper management to help keep the dog out of trouble. This will keep your dog from learning and reinforcing bad behavior and will help them focus on your leadership skills. We will teach you how to use the tools you already have in place to successfully attain this goal.
We consider our dogs to be a part of the family. This means that we use positive and natural canine behavioral techniques. We will help you build the appropriate relationship between you and your dog. We want to make sure that your dog will learn to count on you to keep their world in order. Finally, we want to assure that your dog respects you as their teacher and care giver.
We offer a variety of different training programs, so we can give your pet exactly the help they need.
We offer individualized training programs for adult dogs because many situations simply can’t be resolved in a group environment. We believe that by coming to your home, we can easily recreate the environment and dynamics causing your problems. This also allows us to schedule the training sessions based on your schedule. Sometimes a dog will also need extra care and attention to help them achieve their maximum potential. One on one training can often be the extra push that some pets need to be the best they can be.
We offer Puppy Training to help teach your puppy the basics, so it can be the best it can be going forward. With an emphasis on socialization, potty training, good behavior, and basic obedience, your puppy will learn how to play with other puppies and start to be a happy member of your family. Our training is done on your schedule in your home.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We spend a good amount of time on the phone with any new, prospective client. We want to make sure that they completely understand our training process and what they will need to provide to the training process to make the program successful.
Our first meeting with our client and their dog lasts approximately two to three hours. During that time, we educate out client on how to interact with their dog in a way their dog will understand and accept. Although we mentioned "2 to 3 hours" for the session, we never leave the session until our client is completely satisfied with that they have accomplished.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Robin and Bruce Edwards of Home Dog Training of North Georgia have been professional dog trainers for over 13 years and have successfully trained over 5,000 great dogs and happy dog owners. We have been certified as professional canine behavioral trainers by a national dog training organization and have atteneded multiple dog training conventions/seminars.
In addition to their own training, they have worked with Veterinary Technician Schools to train Vet Techs regarding the proper handeling and safety of dogs.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We will work with any client who wants to have a great dog. Part of our initial discussion with prospective clients is to explain to them that they will need to take a role in their dog's training process. We need that for success.
When it comes to types of dogs and types of problems; we have done it all. We work with every breed and will handle every issue from aggression to potty training. Simple sit, come, and stay to separation anxiety are all issues we specialize in.
