Andrea's Petsitting

Hi there. My name is Andrea, I am 42 & I have been pet sitting for years. I live in Decatur (about 5 minutes from the “City of”), in a 4 bedroom house, split level with a large backyard with a privacy fence. I would be happy keep your dogs/cats for you when you need. I offer “during the day” care where you drop off/pick up and longer, multiple days/overnight stays (long-term boarding). Your dog/cat can either sleep upstairs in their own private bedroom, the couch downstairs, a crate in my room with me, or on the bed with my and my dog Bouncer (basically where ever they choose).. My dog loves everyone.. My cats will usually run and hide unless they know the dog. If your dogs/cats need to be the only ones around, that can be easily accommodated - i.e. they can easily have a private room (where they don't need to be crated in) so they will NEVER EVER come into contact with my cats or my dog...,)

A little about me:

There's no pet I don't like! I have a big house, privacy fence and all the time in the world to spoil your dog. I used to volunteer and later worked for an animal rescue organization (LifeLine in Avondale Estates), I can handle just about any dog. While I can't give your dog shots, I can administer pills, ointments, and most other medications. I can also bath your dog if requested. And we can work on simple obedience if you wish, like sit, stay, shake, lay down, etc.

Dogs are people too, they can sit on my furniture here and will only be crated if necessary, or if you instruct me to do so. People used to call my house an ark and call me Dr Dolittle. In the past I have had as the following as pets: dogs, cats, scorpion, birds, tarantula, rats, Argentinian tegu, leopard gecko, fish, rabbits, guinea pigs, frogs, iguana, hamster, pretty much everything but snakes because I couldn't stand to have to feed them rats which I had as pets...

You name it, I had it or most likely knew (and loved) it lol. Did u know descented skunks still do handstands when they're angry? Raccoons love marshmellows, and iguanas love pasta =) U name it, I had it or knew it (& loved it...) I used to have a deaf boxer who learned my/our own version of an invented doggy sign language.

I currently have 2 cats, one dog and 5 ft iguana named piglet (all rescues because someone else didn't want them, which I think is one of the saddest things in the world.)

I love getting to know all the animals. Honestly, I like dogs more then people most often. I also will always remember the pets name, and the persons name usually comes to me the next day! HAHA
