About
My name is Cheryl , I am a retired school teacher assistant. I've spent my entire life caring for pets . I have owned loved and cared for dogs and cats as long as I can remember. I understand their need for love, attention, and affection. My work ethic is excellent as I am dependable, will follow all instructions, and will go above and beyond to make sure your pets are happy, safe, and their needs met. I have references, from very satisfied clients. I would love nothing more than to board, or walk, or babysit your precious pet. Since moving to Florida 4 yrs. ago, I've been building my business, and would like to expand. I started out working with Wag and Rover, therefore I've been given an education in learning the best safety precautions, and procedures to assure all of my clients are more than satisfied with my performance. I understand leaving your fur baby with a stranger is so very difficult. As soon as you meet me, I promise you, you will be reassured. I'd love for you to visit my home and get to know me. I will make this very easy for you. Nothing means more to me than making your baby feel comforted in your absence.
I love being surrounded by animals, playing with them, and getting to hold, hug, and love them!! I especially love when they get excited to see me, and when I give them treats. They all have different personalities, and I want to get to know them all. I enjoy walking in this beautiful Florida weather, and having a furry pet to do it with, is icing on the cake. I adore cats as well. I have owned many!!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I follow their lead. If they would like to meet me, I will go to their location. If the customer would like to come to my house to check it out for boarding or sitting, they are welcomed. Otherwise we can talk, text, or email so that I can find out their expectations, and follow all instructions. It is totally up to them. There is no charge for Meet and Greets.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As stated I worked as a teacher Assistant for many years. Since moving to Florida 4 yrs. ago I began working with Wag and Rover. They educated me in the practice of caring for pets, their safety, and keeping my clients satisfied. I have been working independently for 3 yrs. now and have lots of practice with many types of dogs and cats.

How did you get started in this business?
Upon moving to Florida, and not knowing anyone, I became bored. I knew I wanted to work, but not full-time (like I did in schools.) I thought about things that I enjoyed. One was walking, another was cats, and dogs! I put them together and voila!! I began walking dogs. That led to boarding, and cat visits. I LOVE MY JOB, it's perfect for me!!
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work mainly with working individuals, or couples. People with their own businesses (I've gone to their offices to walk their dogs also.) I have clients that work in the medical field, retired couples who enjoy vacations, and people who work from home, but have busy schedules, and no time to walk during work hours.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I got a phone call from one of my clients who was upset because it was storming outside and she knew that her dog was scared to be alone during thunderstorms. I ran over there and poor Molly was literally shaking. Within a few minutes, I calmed her down and she fell asleep on my lap. I stayed until the sun came out and all was well!! I was so happy I could help her through.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Don't base your opinion on the cheapest price you can get. This is someone who will be dealing with your loved one! It is a big responsibility. Listen to your heart, and pick the person you are most comfortable with.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
If they are boarding their dogs, ask where they will be sleeping. Ask how many other pets will be there. Ask if the house and yard are treated for fleas.
If it is for dog walks, ask where they will be walked, and tell them what triggers your dog may have that will get him nervous or ready to run. Ask if they will ALWAYS be on a leash while on walks!
For cat visits, ask how they will engage them during the visit. What does the visit consist of? I like to add that I make sure the litter, and feeding areas are clean before I leave.
These are just a few suggestions.
