Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Why us, then? First, to gauge if your claim is worth filing with a free inspection. If so, we find, document, and package all damages—in the insurer's own language—to raise their benchmark. Next, we push resolution by involving top experts as needed to prove all damages, while negotiating diplomatically to get you repairs sooner. Since 1993, our complex claim & policy expertise has recovered over $1 Billion for commercial policyholders in 18 states.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Damage happens, which is why you buy insurance. When your property gets damaged, you expect a fair claim settlement. Reality says you won’t get it, since insurance adjusters work for insurance companies, not for you. It wasn’t always like that. And when it wasn’t, most of us at Stone Claims were working for insurance companies. Today, we work for you, as public adjusters fighting for fairness.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Keep in mind, insurers are not adversaries, only conglomerates. Pressured by sheer claims volume, they send inexperienced adjusters to catastrophes. Their job onsite is to briefly assess, but also set a final amount they deem sufficient to restore your loss; which becomes a benchmark for your entire claim. Don’t accept benchmarks.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Laws entitle you to representation, and just like you should hire an attorney for any court battle, you should hire a public adjuster for your claim. We work for free though, until we maximize your claim’s fair value and get you every dollar under policy. If you could have great representation, and it’s free, would you choose it or fight alone?
