Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Going to their home and taking measurements and having a conversation to see what they are looking for in their design. Then doing a presentation with furniture and decorating suggestions and photos. Going on a field trip if necessary to see fabrics or selecting everything and bringing to them. Putting everything together at the end and showing them what their rooms will exactly look like.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design in NYC in Interior Decorating and Design. Worked for Ethan Allen doing whole house design. Now working independently.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I charge an initial consultation fee of $150 which I deduct from my customer’s purchase. I also sell furniture from over 15 different companies so you wouldn’t have to go to different places to purchase. I’m a one stop shop.
How did you get started in this business?
Ever since I was young I loved fashion and room design. I do complete design and leave nothing out of the details.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Every type from traditional, with drapes and swags, to modern minimal. I want my clients to be happy with what I’m doing not the other way around. I style to their esthetics and taste. It’s not about me it’s about you.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Doing a complete house in contemporary but with multiple colors and balancing the different colors together. Purple, Green, blues, oranges, reds and yellows. At first the client was apprehensive but once she saw the items together she was very happy with the results. Her dining room chairs had those colors and she has copper coffee and end tables. We mixed different metals also. It looks fantastic!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Get to meet your designer in person so you can have a feel for their ideas. Sometimes you can be very surprised with people once you have met them.
