What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Each indiviual Dog and owner are unique. I always have an open mind to see what they need. A phone conversation and them, meeting with the Client to assess the needs for the Owner and the Dog.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been training dogs for over 40 years. I have put multiple titles on my dogs in various dog sports. I have attending multiple seminars, and training under International Obedience champions. Too many books to mention. I am an AKC Scent Work Judge, Canine Good Citizen and Trick Dog evaluator. Farm Dog Certification and Temperament Testing. AKC FIT DOG Intructor. Also a UKC Nose Work Judge.
How did you get started in this business?
As a child Dogs would follow me home. My Mom swore I was taking food to lure them. I have an intuitive connection with animals, especially Dogs. This love of Dogs lead me to wanting to help them feel more comfortable in our world.
What types of customers have you worked with?
With over 40 years I can say I've worked with a full and varied array of different people wanting different things from their Dogs.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Research, ask lots of questions, go see the Trainer working with Dogs. Do not think that a certification is the best way to go. Many excellent Trainers have no certifications.
