About
My ability to listen to the client, focus on their needs and solve their problems is key. I enjoy working with fun people and great projects. Educating the client on space, furnishings and a realistic budget is part of my responsiblity as a professional.
My business began in 1997 in Connecticut, but my projects have taken me everywhere. My client base now is the Tampa Bay area as I live in St. Pete Beach, Florida.
I look forward to hearing from you!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After an extensive interview that covers the project, like and dislikes, tastes and style, usage, budget, timeline, etc. a proposal is presented that covers the Client's requests of Cross Keys Designs. Upon approval of the proposal, a retainer is needed to begin the design process. A weekly update on Wednesdays keeps the Client in the loop on the progress of their design.

How did you get started in this business?
After moving many times to different parts of the country, and always rehabbing, remodeling or building...my husband suggested I attend University for Interior Design. It was a match made in heaven. My first Client was a potential buyer for our house as it was on the market...Cross Keys Designs has now remodeled their house twice!
What types of customers have you worked with?
Most of my Clients are families, so family friendly design is very important. Cross Keys Designs has also worked on ski chalets and waterfront homes. Our Clients are diverse, but know they cannot accomplish on their own what a professional can.
Describe a recent project you are fond of.
Not long ago this area experienced a teriible fire that damaged and destroyed many houses. I was connected to a family that was away when the fire took their home and dog. She had just had a baby, and had no idea what to do next. Cross Keys Designs was able to assist the family as far space planning, aquiring new furnishings and moving forward in their new home. It was such a rewarding project to see the joy and the transformation Cross Keys Designs was able to provide to them.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
If you have an idea of what you are want, collect pictures, set up a Pinterest Page, write down your ideas. There will be a ton of questions to answer about your styles, how you use your home, etc. If you have visuals to show the designer or decorator, it's so much easier to grasp what you are about.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Yes! Be realistic about your budget! That is the biggest bubble buster out there. Be clear in what you are asking from your professional.
Have an idea of what you want... Or be flexible and open to new ideas.
