Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our customers put down a deposit to establish their appointment and then pay at check-in when they bring the dog in for training. We speak extensively on what the dog is like what the family dynamic is like in the home and what are some of the issues the owners are having with their dog.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been training and breeding dogs since the age of 15. I am now 30 with mutliple years of professional obedience and protection training. I worked as the general manager for 3 years at a 40 acer dog training and boarding facility and now own and operate CBK9 Elite as the main trainer and owner. I also have trained other new trainies how to bevome better dog trainers, giving them all the skills they needed to be sussessful at being a dog trainer.
How did you get started in this business?
I have always loved dogs since a kid. Originally I wanted to be a zoologist, but quickly learned that there are alot of different species of animals to be learned and landed on dogs as a main interest. The main interest eventually turned into my main priority. I needed to learn the skills to be able to command and better communicate with my new fuzzy friends.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We work with pet homes as well as disables vets who need service dogs, police and military with working k9s and alot of individuals in the dog community
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Look for what best suits you and your pet.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
They should ask themselves, "what is the purpose of me getting this dog?" Is it just as a companion, or a service dog, maybe a gaurd dog for the home? You have to know what you want out of your dog to better understand what kind of dog you will want to get and what kind of training best suits your lifestyle.
