What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After a brief phone call to learn the basic information pet information, dates, location, etc sharing of the website etc.
I arrange a free of charge meet and greet so that we can to know each other and the pets get to know me. It is important to cover things like daily visit procedures, walk routes, food plans and times, vet info, hurricane planning etc. If I am doing overnight sleeping plans for me etc.
The discussion of references and showing of insurance card etc.
The answering of any clients’ questions is key.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
With regard to Petsitting the learning never ends. Each pet has its own personality as does each owner and they all have their own needs. So I am undergoing training every single day.
I have been doing this for 12 years and learn new things every day. I am used to administering a wide variety of medications under the direction of the pets’ owner.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I do have standard pricing but it is dependent on length of visit and start from $25
There are additional charges for mileage over 10 miles and over 2 pets
Overnights are charged at $100 per 24 hours and include care 16 hours allowing for up to two 4 hour breaks per day
There are surcharges for major holidays
How did you get started in this business?
I started taking care of animals in my childhood back in the UK. When I can over to the USA I started a home watching business for snowbirds and they frequently asked me to take care of their pets when they left for short trips and it grew from there by word of mouth to the successful business it now is.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently I have been taking care of some pets whomhave not been in the best of health. I can report that all in my care have done exceptionally well due to the love and care I give.
